Ms San Francisco Leather 2010 Update
Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you all hot, fabulous and having a wonderful holiday season. After spending the last few months planning and playing I wanted to send out an update of some of the things I have done and will be working on this year as Ms San Francisco Leather.
I have gone to several local events already including an NCSF Consent Counts presentation, Mr. SF Leather’s Halloween beer bust, an Exiles program featuring Cleo Dubois, SFgoL and SF Leather Daddy’s boys beer bust featuring Mamas Toy Drive, the ACLC Santa’s Slave Auction, the Leather Alliance Holiday party, The Exiles Carnal Carnival also featuring Mamas Toy Drive, and a handful of totally hot play parties including Eclipse’s Holiday Unwrapping. Upcoming I will be co-hosting a Leather Levi Weekend sampler play party to get everyone excited about the event which is August 11th – August 14th.
We are not sure of the date yet but will be promoting it in the months to come and sending out information. On the schedule I also have a benefit for Lyon Martin Health Services sometime in March. I will be teaching “IMsL 101″ at International Ms Leather weekend this year, as well as co-hosting a hospitality party with Mr. San Francisco Leather. Levi and I are currently developing a class on boi/boy culture and how it fits into the Leather Dyke BDSM world. We look forward to teaching it at the Big Pink House, for ACLC, SVL, and for a few other groups and at a few different events.
Additionally, I have decided to get behind the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom’s Consent Counts project on a local level in SF. I will be organizing a fund raiser for them this year as well as facilitating discussions around what consent means in our community and sub communities. This project is important to me because the decriminalization of BDSM would serve to protect me, my loved ones, and our community. To learn more about this very important project please visit www.ncsfreedom.org/resources/consent-counts-project.html
As always we continue to have classes at the Big Pink House and work on the Butch Boi website. Butch Boi will be adding an updated community resource page soon and we may even upgrade our cruising profiles section. Butch boi will also be hosting it’s second annual slumber party at International Ms Leather this year! Queer/Leather happy hour continues to grow and we will close out 2010 at Qbar is San Francisco on Tuesday December 21st. Furthermore, I started a blog to write about the different events I will attend this year called the pretty boi diaries. It is not something I ever thought I would do, but I am having a lot of fun with it
I wanted to let you all know that if you need anything at all please let me know and I will do my very best to make it happen. I have a new e-mail that is LeoPeralta@MsSFLeather.org if anyone needs to get a hold of me regarding Ms SF work please message me there.
In addition to attending local events, contests and other SF faves, Here is a list of conferences I will be attending this year:
South Plains Leatherfest
Northwest Leather Celebration
Leather Leadership Conference
International Ms Leather
International Mr. Leather
Butch Voices
Sacramento Valley Heat
Leather Levi Weekend
But first, Levi and I are taking a week long trip to New York for Christmas. It will be my first NY holiday, and I can’t wait! I hope everyone is doing wonderful and I look forward to seeing you all this weekend out and about in SF or in the New Year. I wish you all prosperity, happiness and lots of hot play in 2011.

Leo Peralta named Ms. San Francisco Leather 2010!
San Francisco, CA (October 3, 2010) – Hotly-contested title awarded in stellar evening!
The 2010 Ms. San Francisco Leather contest easily met, if not exceeded, the high standards set by the 2009 contest. Final numbers are not yet in, but contest producers have announced that each of the 2010 beneficiaries: The Lavender Youth Recreation & Information Center (LYRIC), and the Women’s Leather History Project of the Leather Archives and Museum, will receive at least $1,500!
Three amazing contestants vied for the opportunity to formally represent the San Francisco bay area leather community through achieving the coveted title of Ms. San Francisco leather: Angel, a Switch Leather Dyke who serves with San Francisco Dykes on Bikes Women’s Motorcycle Contingent as a Board Member, Merchandise Chair and San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance Alternate Representative; Leo Peralta, Marketing Director and Co-Owner of butchboi.com, a founding member of The Big Pink House, organizer of the Bay Area Queer/Leather Happy Hour, event planner for the Bay Area TNG, and Co-Director of Marketing for International Ms Leather Weekend 2010; and Ms. Cat, co-host of the popular Eclipse play parties, which have served the women & trans community for over 4 years, previous Volunteer Coordinator for Folsom’s Venus’ Playground, and former coordinator of the FemmePosse of San Francisco.
The awesome panel of Judges, all esteemed members of the leather community, had their work cut out for them as they were presented with 3 contestants whose presentations were consistently outstanding throughout the contest. Judges were: Skeeter (Head Judge), Cowboi Jen, Lance Holman, Ms Rhonda, and the “secret” Judge, now revealed to be Gauge Strongarm! The meet and greet, held Friday, October 1 at the Eagle Tavern, was emceed by Lady Hilary, and the contest, held Saturday, October 2, at the Hotel Whitcomb was emceed by Miranda. Both emcees kept the audience entertained, laughing, and engaged. The contest was dedicated to Heidi Bear, a longstanding member of the leather community.
When it was all over, all three contestants had been honored. Ms. Cat had earned the title of First Runner-Up, The Leather Heart award was given to Angel (the recipient of this award is chosen by a vote of the contestants), and Leo Peralta was named Ms. San Francisco Leather. Congratulations to all 3 contestants for a uniformly outstanding job!
