MS. SAN FRANCISCO LEATHER CONTEST ANNOUNCES ITS JUDGES
On October 7 and 8, 2011, a panel of esteemed judges will select Ms. San Francisco Leather 2011! This year’s judges include Ms. Margaret, the producer of the Northwest Leather Celebration; Tracy Wolf, Ms. San Francisco Leather 2009 and Women’s International Leather Legacy 2011; Jason DaBoi, International Ms. Bootblack 2010; Darren Bondy, Mr. San Francisco Leather 2011; and our secret judge, Lady Hilary
Margaret Anderson, aka MsKitNboots, loves the Leather community and all the opportunities offered therein. She is grateful for the privilege of volunteering in the community and encourages others to volunteer, too! Margaret currently serves as the executive producer for Northwest Leather Celebration, the host event for the Northwest regional Master/slave contest. Other involvements include membership in several local groups and traveling to present workshops with her slave. She enjoys hosting events such as kinky tea parties, a monthly walking group for kinksters, a quarterly munch and mentoring those who are new to our diverse community. Personal vices include single malt scotch, cigars and bubble baths — occasionally taken together.
Jayson DaBoi is a native New Mexican, has been living the leather lifestyle for 7 years, but has always had a leather-heart. Jason started bootblacking at a young age, when she first asked her father to show her how to shine his shoes; she was hooked at first polish. She continued his traditions into the military and now shares them with her community. Jayson believes that boots create the foundation of the Leather Walk, and she wants to ensure that everyone has access to a solid and beautiful foundation. She enjoys sharing her love of leather care with anyone willing to learn and has taught both one on one and in large groups. When not working her “normal” job, she can be found in a cigar bar or her living room, blacking boots, or out in the community raising funds for anyone whoasks. Jayson DaBoi currently holds the titles of New Mexico BootBlack 2009, Ms.Rio Grande Leather 2010, and International Ms Bootblack 2010.
Darren Bondy has been into leather/kink since the age of 18. Darren currently holds the 2011 titles of Mr. San Francisco Leather, Mr. Powerhouse, and Mr. September (Bare Chest Calendar). He completed a 13 year goal this year by competing at IML, with an impressive finish of eighth place out of 53 contestants.
Darren has over 20 years of community service and fundraising under his belt. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Bare Chest Calendar with plans to be Den Daddy next year. Darren’s passion for fundraising has benefited numerous non-profit organizations over the years including, San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance, AIDS Emergency Fund, & Positive Resource Center in San Francisco. He was one of the original founders of Phoenix Rising Foundation. As well as a contributing member/volunteer for Body Positive Resource Center, Communion Foundation, Winter Party and Rising Rhythm (all in Miami). Most recently, The Leather Archives & Museum has been added to the list, benefitting financially from the work of Darren, as Mr. San Francisco Leather.
Darren has initiated a monthly leather party at Powerhouse called “Black Saturday” to ensure our city has a regular leather party. Proceeds from these parties will benefit various non-profits, as well as “Mr. SF Leather’s Kinky Sex Ed” schedule of programs and workshops. Darren is committed to rebuilding a vibrant, healthy, and sustainable leather community for the next generation of “kinksters”! Darren feels passionate about building and supporting an all-inclusive community. Darren has worked in unison with Leo Peralta in strengthening our diverse community. Mr. and Ms. SF Leather chose to ride together in Gay Pride to show their support of each other. Darren has supported & contributed to Ms. SF Leather’s monthly happy hour, co-hosted IMsL Reception together, and have established a strong and lasting friendship. Darren looks forward to continuing the work with the next Ms. SF Leather.
Keep your eyes & ears open, as Darren Bondy promises to make the most of his year as Mr. San Francisco Leather!
Tracy Wolf is the 2011 Women’s International Leather Legacy titleholder. She is the first person to hold this new international title, which carries with it responsibility for gathering historical information and artifacts for the women’s community, and sending it to the Leather Archives & Museum.
Tracy is a proud bisexual polyamorous switch, who has been part of the leather community since 1999. She was Ms. San Francisco Leather 2009, and currently serves as Secretary for the San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance.
She is an active member of the Exiles and the Alameda County Leather Corps (ACLC). She has also been a volunteer, demonstrator and teacher for organizations across the United States including Threshold, SoJ, LLC, OCLA, LARAWW, GLASC, Lair de Sade, Leather Alley, and Black Rose.
